Tucker Signs is a multisensory strategy that helps children learn and remember letter sounds by pairing each sound with a specific hand sign or movement. Parents should watch the Tucker Signs video with their child and practice making the sign while saying the corresponding letter sound aloud. The goal is for the child to connect what they see, hear, and do with the sound.
When practicing, show your child a letter, have them make the Tucker Sign, and then say the sound. Keep practice short and positive—about 5–10 minutes at a time. As your child becomes more confident, encourage them to produce the sound without assistance.
